Grief Altars and Mandalas

Building an Altar or Mandala

Grief can leave us carrying emotions that have nowhere to go. Creating an altar or mandala gives our love, loss, and heartbreak a place to land—a tangible space where we can honor what has been lost while slowly learning to carry it differently.

Through beauty, intention, and ritual, we create space for love to remain while grief begins to transform.

Healing Mandalas

A  mandala offers another way to metabolize grief through creativity and ritual. Created in community, it can become a powerful, often silent, collective process for honoring loss, expressing what words cannot, and allowing grief to move through a compassionate cycle of transformation. Created individually, it can serve as meditative practice for your solo healing journey.

Cultivated Altars

An altar holds a place of honor and healing, whether in the home or communal setting—a sacred space to hold the shattered pieces as we begin to mend. Photographs, flowers, candles, and meaningful objects honor our love and continuing connection with someone we have lost. Sitting in quiet contemplation at an altar can offer a gentle place for grief to be felt, held, and gradually integrated.
